Ohio Dental Association praises Gov. DeWine’s announcement to reopen dental offices
The Ohio Dental Association praised Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s Responsible RestartOhio plan, which calls for reopening dental offices beginning May 1.
“Oral health is vitally important to overall health, and reopening dental offices will allow Ohioans to get much needed dental care,” said ODA President Dr. Sharon Parsons. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ohio dentists have delayed non-emergency care to help preserve PPE, have donated PPE to local hospitals and have provided emergency care to patients to help divert patients from emergency rooms. We look forward to reopening dental offices in Ohio while utilizing appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and patients during this pandemic. We would like to thank Gov. Mike DeWine, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and Director of the Ohio Department of Health Dr. Amy Acton for their leadership during this pandemic and for recognizing the importance of oral health care services for all Ohioans.”
