A LETTER FROM THE CHAIR: ODASC IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING ODA MEMBERS WITH THE BEST POSSIBLE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The last time I wrote to you I was president of the ODA during the start of COVID. Thankfully that is in our rearview mirror. I am currently the chair of the Ohio Dental Association Services Corporation, better known as ODASC. Earlier in my career, I was busy treating patients and raising children. I didn’t really take the time to find out what ODASC was, let alone what it offered me. For those of you who are not familiar with ODASC, it is a division of the ODA that provides members with access to reduced rates and assistance on supplies, products and services. The following are just some of the offerings available through ODASC.
ODA Wellness Trust. This is a private, dentist-owned, self-funded employer health benefit plan. It was developed by ODA member dentists for member dentists, their families and their teams. It offers high quality health benefits at competitive rates.
OhioDDS. This is a Group Purchasing Organization dedicated to saving members money on dental supplies, equipment and services. This offers smaller offices similar discounts to those that larger offices have traditionally enjoyed. Most dentists have found that they have saved an average of 15% by purchasing through the GPO. We have partnered with a dental supplier as well as manufacturers. There is no annual fee or charge to sign up. Once enrolled, you are not obligated to purchase through the GPO but may find it beneficial.
Endorsed Practice Resource Products. Some of the resources available include website design and marketing, electronic insurance claim management, health care credit card, patient communication system, in-office membership plans, credit card processing and more.
Insurance Products. Besides the ODA Wellness Trust, the ODA offers a variety of other insurance products.
The ODASC staff and board are dedicated to providing ODA members with the best possible products and services. The staff is available to answer questions and provide help when needed. They are ODA staff and therefore do not receive compensation from any of the companies with which we partner.
