ODA ANNUAL SESSION TO FEATURE PROGRAMMING FOR EVERYONE

The 2022 ODA Annual Session will be Sept. 15-17 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

The 2022 ODA Annual Session is Sept. 15-17 in Columbus at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Hilton Columbus Downtown Hotel.

“At this year’s Annual Session, we will have something for everyone,” said ODA Executive Director David Owsiany. “We have strong programming from women and minority speakers, and we have CE and events aimed at the entire dental team and specialists. There’s truly something for everyone.”

ODA Annual Session events and the ODA room block are scheduled to take place in the new Hilton Tower, connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The tower will be the tallest concrete frame built in Columbus in more than 30 years and features 28 floors, a two-story restaurant and a rooftop lounge.

Continuing Education for the entire dental team

Hands-on participation workshops will be a highlight of this year’s Annual Session, including hard-to-find workshops for hygienists and dental assistants.

  • Dr. Dan Ward.
  • Dr. Paul Levi and Dr. Dan Coleman.
  • Judy Bendit, RDH.

  • Tom Viola, RPh, CCP.
  • Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz.

Annual Session will also feature an opioid course that meets the OSDB license renewal requirement for dentists and hygienists.

In addition to in-person CE, more than 15 hours of bonus CE will be available online from Sept. 19-Dec. 31, free with your Annual Session registration. The Oral Health Access Supervision Program (OHASP) course will be offered as part of the bonus online CE.

In-person Exhibit Hall Hours:

  • Thursday, Sept. 15 from 12 to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New this year, we will be offering “ODA Talks” in the Exhibit Hall, which will be free interactive CE courses.

The Exhibit Hall will also feature several special events:

Cuisine + Colleagues From Around The World – Experience food and beverages from different regions around the world throughout the Exhibit Hall, hosted by the ODA Subcouncil on Diversity and Inclusion. Thursday, Sept. 15 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Hops & Shops – Partake in free central Ohio craft beers and snacks hosted by participating exhibitors. Stop by the Table Clinics for additional free CE during this time. Friday, Sept. 16 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Dark Roast and Donuts – Enjoy coffee and donuts on us while you finish shopping in the Exhibit Hall. Saturday, Sept. 17 starting at 9 a.m.

Enjoy social events

Annual Session will feature social events where you can connect with your friends, colleagues and staff members from across the state.

This year’s special events include:

  • The New Dentist Social at Denmark on High on Thursday, Sept. 15.
  • Morning yoga.
  • The Callahan Celebration of Excellence Honoring ODA President Dr. Thomas Kelly on Friday, Sept. 16.
  • Night at the Columbus Clippers (minor league baseball) for dental students, dental residents and new dentists on Friday, Sept. 16 at beautiful Huntington Park.
  • The Bash! featuring casino games, prizes and live music by Kyle Primous & the K-Street Band on Friday Sept. 16.

Register by Aug. 1 to receive an early bird registration discount! Dental staff members register for $35, and ODA/ADA members register for $99 until Aug. 1. Registration includes attendance at the in-person Annual Session as well as access to up to 15 hours of online CE at no additional cost.
