Ohio dentist elected American Dental Association president-elect

The American Dental Association House of Delegates elected Dr. Joseph Crowley, a Cincinnati dentist, as ADA president-elect on Oct 24.

Crowley has been a member of the American Dental Association for 40 years and is an immediate past trustee of the ADA.  He has served on and chaired many ADA councils and committees.

Crowley also served as the president of the Ohio Dental Association from 2005-06 and president of the Cincinnati Dental Society in 1996 and has served in many roles at the local and state level.

He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1976 and has been a general dentist in Cincinnati for 40 years.

He is a member of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Ohio State University College of Dentistry Alumni Advisory Board, L.D. Pankey Institute Alumni Association, Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Crowley earned the Ohio Dental Association Distinguished Dentist Award in 2013 and Achievement Award in 2001, the Cincinnati Dental Society Meritorious Service Award in 2007 and the Ohio Pierre Fauchard Distinguished Dentist Award.

Crowley will be Ohio’s first ADA president since 1935. He will serve as ADA president in 2018.

The ADA is the nation’s largest dental association, representing more than 159,000 member dentists.
