Grassroots Legislative Efforts
AdvanceOHIO (Advance Oral Health in Ohio) is the ODA's statewide grassroots advocacy network. The goal is to match ODA contact dentists with Ohio’s state legislators. AdvanceOHIO is modeled after the ADA's grassroots program and is administered by the ODPAC Board of Directors. It was the first of its kind among state dental associations, and has been honored by the ADA as well as the American Society of Association Executives and the Ohio Society of Association Executives for its outstanding legislative work.

Contact Your Legislators
To contact your legislators, visit the ODA's Engage website. On the Engage site, you will be able to find information and calls to action on current ODA issues, plus look up your elected officials.
When contacting your legislators it is important to: let them know you are a constituent and a member of the ODA, discuss ODA legislative priorities, thank them for their time and support and let them know that you are happy to help any time they have questions about dentistry.
Be sure not to: discuss any legislation not included in the ODA legislative agenda, pledge any funds or future support, imply that ODPAC support of the legislator's campaign is contingent upon his/her support of ODA issues, or criticize any state agency.
