About the ODA
The Executive Committee is the managing body of the Ohio Dental Association. The Executive Committee administers the policies established by the House of Delegates and the Ad Interim Committee.
The Executive Committee consists of seven members. The president, president-elect, vice president, immediate past president, secretary and treasurer are the voting members of the committee. The speaker of the House is an ex officio member of the committee, without the right to vote. The Executive Committee traditionally meets five times during the year.

Dr. Mark Bronson attended Hampton University and earned his DDS degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He is a past president of the Cincinnati Dental Society and is the past chair of the ODA’s Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Heart of Gold Foundation and is an associate board member of the Dental Care Plus Group. | |

Dr. Kim Gardner earned his BS degree from the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown and his DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is a past president of the Northeastern Ohio Dental Society and is the past chair of the ODA’s Council on Membership Services and Dental Education and Licensure Committee. He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy. | |

Dr. Casamassimo received his BS degree and his DDS degree from Georgetown University and his MS degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Iowa. He was the 2003 recipient of the Ohio Dental Association’s Humanitarian Award. He is a past president of the Columbus Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Dr. Casamassimo is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). He is a member of the American Dental Education Association, Academy of Dentistry for Disabled Persons, American Association of Hospital Dentists, Ohio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor fraternity. | |

Dr. Thomas Matanzo earned his BS degree from the University of Steubenville and his DDS degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He is a past president and the current secretary/treasurer of the Eastern Ohio Dental Society and has served as chair of the ODA’s Council on Membership Services and vice chair of the ADA's Council on Membership. He also currently serves as a dental advisor for the Jefferson Community College Board of Advisors. Dr. David Waldman, a general dentist from Youngstown, Ohio, earned his BS and DDS degrees from Case Western Reserve University. He is a past president of the Corydon Palmer Dental Society and is a former member of the ODA’s Annual Session Committee, Council on Access to Care and Public Service, and Dental Education and Licensure Committee. Dr. Roger Hess, a Periodontist from Lyndhurst, Ohio, earned his BS, MBA, and DDS degrees from Emory University and a graduate certificate in Periodontics and an MPA degree from The Ohio State University. He is a past president of the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, Cleveland Society of Periodontists, and Ohio Academy of Periodontists. Dr. Michael Halasz received his DDS degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He served as the Vice Speaker of the ODA House of Delegates from 2003-2009. He is a past president of the Dayton Dental Society, a past chair of the ODA’s Council on Dental Care Programs and Dental Practice, and a past member of the ADA Council on Dental Practice. He is a member of the International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy and National Association of Parliamentarians. | |

David J. Owsiany earned his BA degree from the University of Michigan and his JD degree from the Washington University School of Law. He has been executive director of the ODA since 2002. He previously served as director of legislative and legal services for the ODA from 1994 through 1999, was a clerk to Justice Robert W. Cook of the Illinois Appellate Court from 1992-1994 and prior to that worked for the staff of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Most recently before returning to the ODA, he was president of the Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions in Columbus. | |
